A bit about us

Established in 2018 by local builder and lifetime resident of Comber, Robin Thompson, Thompson Timber supplies quality timber and timber products as well as garden and landscaping supplies to the general public and trade customers in Comber and the local area.

Robin began his career as a carpenter before setting up Comber Building Centre in 1989. The Building Centre operated as a builders merchants supplying building products and materials for projects big and small. 

 

Working with his father Stevie for many years, the Building Centre offered onsite custom joinery services including kitchen cabinetry made to order, doors, windows, staircases, picture framing and covered the entire range of building supplies for the home DIY enthusiast to larger scale commercial projects for trade customers.

 

Throughout this time Robin got to know what customers wanted and made sure that quality products and quality service became a feature of the Building Centre.

After closing the Building Centre in 2003, Robin then spent the next several years building houses and project-managing small residential developments in the local area.
